Running for the Persecuted

Lineo's 28km Mission from Vredenburg to Langebaan

Dee ran to raise awareness for Christians being persecuted in Nigeria

On Saturday, 25 October 2025, Lineo “Dee” laced up her shoes and ran 28 kilometres from Vredenburg to Langebaan – not for medals or recognition, but for a mission close to her heart.

Dee ran to raise awareness for Christians being persecuted in Nigeria, standing in prayerful solidarity with believers who face hardship for their faith.

Partnering with Open Doors South Africa, she turned each step into an act of intercession and hope.

“When I run, I remember those who cannot run free. I run for their faith, their courage, and their peace.” – Dee

Faith in Motion

Dee’s journey was more than a physical challenge – it was a reminder that faith calls us to move.

Her endurance on the road mirrored the perseverance of those who continue to follow Christ in the face of persecution.

As Scripture says:

“Let us run with endurance the race marked out for us.” – Hebrews 12:1

Through her run, Dee showed that transformation happens when love becomes action, and when we choose compassion over comfort.

Standing with the Persecuted Church

In Nigeria and across many parts of Africa, believers often experience discrimination, exclusion, or danger because of their faith.

Organisations like Open Doors provide support, discipleship, and prayer networks to help them stay strong in hope.

A Call to Prayer

Dee’s story encourages us all to reflect:
How can we use our gifts, time, or prayers to stand with those who suffer for their faith?

🕯️ Prayer:
“Lord, strengthen Your children around the world who face persecution. Fill them with courage, peace, and unshakable faith. Teach us to run our race with compassion and endurance.”
